A Compassionate Heart

Date:

Put to death your sexual sin,
Perversion, passion, lust and greed;
That is corrupting you within,
With the immorality seed.

It is because of all who sinned,
God is angry who will refuse;
For those who are not disciplined,
And have been willing to abuse.

You use to live that kind of life,
With anger, hatred, and cursing;
As you become burdened with strife,
As you continue coercing.

Do not lie to one another,
Get rid of who you use to be;
Living life to be a brother,
Become a new person to see.

The new person will be renewed,
For being like its Creator;
By the Lord be always reviewed,
Being an officiator.

For there will be no Greek or Jew,
Circumcised or uncircumcised;
Regardless of what you might do,
Civilized or uncivilized.

As holy people that God chose,
Are loved, sympathetic, and kind;
Be gentle and patient by those,
Humbled having a peace of mind.

Tolerate others and forgive,
Pardon as the Lord forgave you;
Be harmonious how you live,
Ensuring that you remain true.

Be loving to tie together,
As the peace of Christ controls you;
Flocking like birds of a feather,
Regardless as Christian or Jew.

The Word of Christ with its wisdom,
As the richness to live within;
Preparing you for His Kingdom,
Building spiritual discipline.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
