Falling Risk

Date:

I want you to know,
How life just might be;
If God stopped the flow,
To walk through the sea.

By night walked the crowd,
Followed the fire;
By day as a cloud,
Gave as required.

The cloud and the sea,
Gave them food and drink;
When God heard the plea,
As to not to sink.

A spiritual food,
With spiritual drink;
Kept them in the mood,
Away from the brink.

So as they had thirst,
Wherever they walk;
Although they had cursed,
They drank from a rock.

Yet, God was not pleased,
With their attitude;
Many were diseased,
For their awful mood.

So we should not lust,
After evil things;
And put our trust,
Of all which God brings.

Worship not false gods,
As some others do;
Idols are mere frauds,
That they will pursue.

Some may like a feast,
Then naughty sin;
And become deceased,
Corroded within.

They were killed by snakes,
And angel of death;
A risk that one takes,
Without godly breath.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
