False Prophets

Date:

If you claim to be a prophet,
Or to have prophetic dreams;
Make sure it is not for profit,
Being a money making scheme.

You may predict a lucky sign,
Or some kind of amazing thing;
A possible future design,
That only a dreamer could bring.

What you predict may just take place,
But some will know you are a fraud;
By telling others to embrace,
And to worship another god.

The Lord your God is testing you,
Finding out if you do love Him;
See if your heart and soul are true,
And if your faith is growing dim.

Always worship the Lord your God,
Fear Him and obey His commands;
Serving to give honor and laud,
Following what His Law demands.

That prophet must be put to death,
Preaching revolt against the Lord;
Choke him of every last breath,
Beheading with a two-edge sword.

He was trying to make you stray,
From following the Lord your God;
Conniving to lead you away,
Into evil making you flawed.

Your family may try to tempt,
In worshipping another god;
But you must convince to preempt,
And show the other is a fraud.

There may be some gods around you,
They just might be both near and far;
From a foreign land as not true,
Nevertheless they cause a scar.

Do not be influenced by them,
Feeling not sorry or pity;
Rather be able to condemn,
For following something gritty.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
