Influence Gently

Date:

Put to death the worldly in you.
Perversion, passion, lust and greed;
In your heart to God just be true,
For He caters to what you need.

For these sins always anger God,
On those who refuse to obey;
Never showing honor and laud,
Because they rather go astray.

You used to live a sinful life,
As you lied to one another;
Being overwhelmed with the strife,
And you were blaming the Father.

You have gotten rid of the one,
How you used to be with living;
Then came the cross that held the Son,
So God could then be forgiving.

You became a new creation,
Renewed mind of its Creator;
Since through Christ you have salvation,
For God is the Expiator.

The Father sees no Jew or Greek,
Nor a color of any kind;
He only sees people that seek,
Having a pure and holy mind.

Holy people God selected,
Are sympathetic and humble;
While others are rejected,
Because they complain and grumble.

You must tolerate each other,
An ability to forgive;
So please pardon one another,
For in harmony you must live.

Let the peace of Christ control you,
As the Word of Christ brings wisdom;
His richness living each day through,
As you prepare for His Kingdom.

Sing onto the Lord in your heart,
With all that you say and you do;
As your hands and your mouth impart,
Heavenly views your thoughts construe.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
