Sojourners

Date:

May You be praised, God our Lord,
Our Father forevermore;
As we remain in one accord,
The one that I love and adore.

Greatness and power are Yours,
Along with glory and splendor;
By creating all that assures,
You are never a pretender.

For everything in Heaven,
As well as on the planet earth;
Belongs to You but been given,
Onto us upon our birth.

But the Kingdom is Yours O Lord,
And You are the head of all things;
So You will be loved and adored,
For the goodness that Heaven brings.

Riches and honor what You face,
While nothingness is in the back;
You rule all of which You embrace,
For there is nothing that You lack.

You hold the power and the strength,
Making anyone great and strong;
They endure pain at any length,
So agony does not prolong.

God our Father, we thank You,
As we praise Your wonderful name;
Remembering You all that we do,
With reaching out as we proclaim.

But who am I where I sojourn,
And who are really my people;
Maybe here is where I was born,
In a strange school as a pupil.

You have enabled us to give,
Generosity comes from You;
Strangers in this place where we live,
Thoughts about You that will construe.

We are nomads constantly roam,
Foreigners waiting for the day;
When You finally call us home,
And that no longer will we stray.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
