The Invitation

Date:

Come to the water if you thirst,
This water is for the living;
Come as to be one of the first,
Because the Lord is forgiving.

Come in getting something to eat,
Even if you have no money;
The Lord will be washing your feet,
Before you taste milk and honey.

Why spend money when it is free,
You do not have to pay for wine;
Nourish yourself with what you see,
Provided free by the Divine.

Eat what is good enjoy the food,
Your wages do not satisfy;
Nourishment gives the attitude,
That a stomach cannot deny.

Open your ears so you can hear,
Listen up so that you may live;
Remembering that God is near,
With the blessings willing to give.

Such an everlasting promise,
Promised David with the blessings;
Do not be doubtful like Thomas,
Rather what goodness the Lord brings.

I make you a witness to those,
That are commanders and leaders;
The direction a blessing flows,
Unto the spiritual feeders.

You are summoning a nation,
That you may have never had known;
And offering them salvation,
That God is willing to condone.

Because the Lord is our God,
Because He is the Holy One;
Remember to honor and laud,
Until the day this life is done.

Seek the Lord where He may be found,
Call on Him while He is near;
Listening for hearing His sound,
Honoring Him as you revere.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
