This Is the Day

Date:

Open the gates of righteousness,
So I may have access through them;
And be given favor as You bless,
I ask that you never condemn.

For this is the gate of the Lord,
Through which righteous people enter;
And I will be in one accord,
Knowing I am a repenter.

I give thanks to You, our Lord,
Because You are answering me;
Every time I read Your Word,
Giving the insight for to see.

You are my Savor on the throne,
The stone the builders rejected;
But You became my cornerstone,
Foundation of faith selected.

My Lord is amazing to see,
And responsible for my life;
Assisting me in being free,
Within times of the midst of strife.

This is the day the Lord has made,
Let us rejoice while be glad;
No need for us to be afraid,
Nor in being gloomy or sad.

Welcome each day being a gift,
From God, thankful for being saved;
With the momentum to uplift,
No longer into sin enslaved.

Bless the one, who comes in His name,
Bless him from the house of the Lord;
As we worship we will proclaim,
How much He is loved and adored.

The Lord is God and gave us light,
To see while walking His path;
Guiding us to give His insight,
Sparing us from feeling His wrath.

You are my God and I give thanks,
Because I know that You are good;
And I will preach down through the ranks,
To others to do as they should.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
