Within His Steps

Date:

The righteous person that owns less,
Is better than someone with wealth;
Because the Lord sees and will bless,
Improving their spiritual health.

Wicked people may break their arm,
They will suffer while it heals;
But God keeps the righteous from harm,
That is humbled, prays as he kneels.

The Lord knows of daily conflicts,
Of innocent people of earth;
Protecting them from what afflicts,
Shielding them for what they are worth.

They will never be put to shame,
Even in the times of famine;
They will gratify to proclaim,
As the Lord helps them examine.

But wicked people will perish,
And you will see them disappear;
For the Lord will never cherish,
Those people who do not revere.

A wicked person will borrow,
But will never repay a debt;
That will bring the lender sorrow,
The investment he will not get.

But the righteous are generous,
Giving more than they can afford;
But they will be more prosperous,
Being with God in one accord.

The ones who are blessed by the Lord,
Will be inheriting the land;
Showing He is loved and adored,
On a solid rock where they stand.

Their steps are guided by the Lord,
As the Lord delights in his way;
Ensuring he gets his reward,
When given on that special day.

I have been young but now am old,
Saw not the righteous forsaken;
As the plan of God will unfold,
And each of us to awaken.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
