Standards of God

I know that His standards,
Are spiritual and pure;
But I do things backwards,
Corrupted to the core.

I know not what I do,
Sold as a slave to sin;
I say not what is true,
And know I cannot win.

For I do what I hate,
Not what I want to do;
Satan has sealed my fate,
And it makes me feel blue.

Standards of God are good,
I agree and do know;
In doing what I should,
Follow blessings that flow.

But I stop doing things,
That was sealing my fate;
So my confession brings,
Blessings to compensate.

I repent for the sin,
So God does not condemn;
His Spirit cleanse within,
For getting rid of them.

Nothing good lives in me,
For the corrupt nature;
Just God able to see,
Make me a new creature.

I have the desire,
In doing what is right;
So I can acquire,
The wisdom for insight.

For evil that was done,
That has been in the past;
I am no more the one,
For wicked ways to cast.

I discovered the truth,
How evil made me blind;
Feeling rude and uncouth,
My words were not so kind.
