A Child Will Be Born

Date:

The people who walk in darkness,
Will be seeing a brilliant light;
And will be stunned by its starkness,
The intensity in the night.

The light will shine on those who live,
In the land of a deathly shadow,
As it will be causing to give,
Of such a scene that is hallow.

It will amplify the nation,
While increase its happiness;
Giving the people salvation,
To celebrate the blessedness.

Like those who celebrate the yield,
Or rejoice dividing loot;
Coming back from the golden field,
Tasting the sweetness of the fruit.

It will break the yoke of burdens,
The bar the crosses their shoulders;
Causing many to their coffins,
From worries that feel like boulders.

The stick used by their oppressor,
As it did while in battle;
Is not used by its successor,
As being used like on cattle.

Each soldier having marching boots,
The sound of battle could be heard;
Not a single soldier disputes,
What is commanded in the Word.

All of their garments rolled in blood,
Will be burned as fuel for fire;
They have been serving since the flood,
For their spiritual desire.

A child will be born for us,
As a Son that will be given;
The government will rest as thus,
On His shoulders from in Heaven.

He will be named Almighty God,
Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace;
Heavenly throne for us to laud,
Praise and honor never to cease.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
