I patiently wait for the Lord,
He turned to me and heard my cry;
My plea for help was not ignored,
As my relief released a sigh.
He pulled me out of a deep pit,
So horrible of mud and clay;
But my hope and faith do not quit,
Since I always trust and obey.
He set my feet upon a rock,
That was firm made my steps secure;
Solid enough for me to walk,
Following Him in through the door.
He placed a new song in my heart,
A song of praise to our God;
Many will worship to take part,
To trust as they honor and laud.
Blessed is the man that puts His trust,
Placing confidence in the Lord;
As he is abandoning his lust,
So that Satan will be ignored.
I rely not on those with pride,
Arrogant people telling lies;
I cannot let them be my guide,
Since they are Satan in disguise.
God has done miraculous things,
By creating Heaven and earth;
And with the miracles He brings,
Especially wonders of birth.
God was not pleased with offerings,
And sacrifices for your sin;
For corruption inside still brings,
Disesteem of your discipline.
But I have come back to the Lord,
And I am happy to do His will;
For He is beloved and adored,
While His words always instill.
For His teachings are deep within,
Which is full of promise and hope;
Assisting me with discipline,
Encouragement to help me cope.
