Adversity to Endure

Date:

Surprise not by ardent trouble,
That come in order to test you;
Be careful you do not stumble,
In what your mind wants to construe.

Feel not as though something is strange,
That would be happening to you;
Rather look towards the Lord for change,
When life is making you feel blue.

So just be happy as you share,
Partakers of distress for Christ;
Showing others how much you care,
How much you have sacrificed.

No doubts you will be full of joy,
When He appears in His glory;
While feeling like a schoolboy,
Knowing the rest of the story.

If insulted as you proclaim,
Rest assured His Spirit will bless;
When you honor Christ in His name,
Which will be relieving your stress.

Suffer not for what you have done,
Regardless as a crook or a thief;
You are forgiven through the Son,
Because of faith through your belief.

As a Christian always proclaim,
Never fear and not be ashamed;
Praise God in being called that name,
As a rightful heir to be claimed.

Time has come for judgment to start,
The church is where it will begin;
If all of us have a true heart,
And who still has corrupted sin.

What will be the end of all those,
Who are refusing to obey;
Because of the life that they chose,
That has been causing them to stray.

If the righteous are to be saved,
Where will godless sinners appear;
The will of God will be engraved,
Only on those who do revere.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
