Having an heir as a child,
Is no different than a slave;
Who enjoys running wild,
I would constantly misbehave.
Although he owns everything,
He is placed under the control;
Through a guardian bequeathing,
Everything unto my soul.
Till the time set by His Father,
To be given over to me;
Matured enough as to whether,
Having responsibility.
It was the same way with us all,
When we were children we were slaves;
Childish ways our downfall,
And each one of us misbehaves.
But when the time had become right,
God had sent His begotten Son;
A woman gave birth to the light,
So we could be again as one.
He came under control of Law,
God sent Him to pay for freedom;
Within us from each sinful flaw,
So we can enter His Kingdom.
We were controlled by these laws too,
So that we would be adopted;
To a Father faithful and true,
That God the Father has opted.
God has sent His Holy Spirit,
Of His Son in us to call out;
To share what He does inherit,
And what the Father is about.
So you are no longer as slaves,
Rather being children of God;
No longer remaining in graves,
But alive to honor and laud.
God has also made you His heirs,
As He spreads about His pure love;
So what belongs to Christ He shares,
With His compassion from above.
