Because of this my heart pounds,
While jumping out of place;
Hearing the thundering sounds,
Filling with hate and disgrace.
Listen to God hear His roar,
The rumbling comes from His tongue;
Across from a distant shore,
Where the destruction is flung.
Lightning flashes from Heaven,
Flashing light over the earth;
His roaring voice is given,
Thundering of all its worth.
His lightning is not held back,
While His thunder being heard;
Disobedience we lack,
As is written in His Word.
His voice thunders wondrous ways,
Things we do not understand;
Cloudy minds a person strays,
Having given a command.
Rain and snow fall to the ground,
Gently or hard as God tells;
Chances are making no sound,
In nourishing all that dwells.
Animals go to their lair,
For protection from the storm;
The strong wind blowing the air,
Contrary from daily norm.
His breath able to cause ice,
Able to make the seas freeze;
Or as a warming device,
Bringing a tropical breeze.
Whether for the discipline,
Making a storm to appear;
Or a disaster for sin,
Causing desire to fear.
Open your ears to the cloud,
Consider how God controls;
Giving warning to the crowd,
Repent for their sinful souls
