Commonwealth

Date:

Pay attention to those who live,
Imitate them by example;
Learning just how you should forgive,
Just like Jesus and His Gospel.

Be imitators just like me,
So you will be able to talk;
Having the insight how to see,
The way He has shown you to walk.

How many times have I told you?
Now saying with tears in my eyes;
As Satan already does know,
How enemies are telling lies.

Many live as foes of the cross,
Where Christ hung on while He bled;
For our gain was from His loss,
Bringing about glory instead.

In the end they shall be destroyed,
As their fate sees an inferno;
And no longer can they avoid,
Into perdition where they go.

The righteous enabled to proclaim,
Since foes took pride in shameful things;
Because of glory in their shame,
In what an earthly pleasure brings.

The worldly things they set their minds,
Most of which have immoral ways;
A motive that addiction finds,
One who is gullible that strays.

We are citizens of Heaven,
In the heavenly commonwealth;
The salvation we are given,
A wonderful spiritual health.

We look forward unto that day,
When Lord Jesus our Savior;
Has come back down so we can stay,
And blessing us with His favor.

His power brings everything,
Changing us from humble to glorified;
And stay with the heavenly King,
For being like the crucified.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
