O Lord, You are my God,
And I will praise Your name;
I will honor and laud,
To others I proclaim.
You did wonderful things,
Always reliable;
Such goodness that it brings,
Plans so admirable.
You turn towns to ruins,
Cities into rubble;
For transgressions and sins,
Causing others trouble.
That is why I laud You,
While tyrants will fear;
I know that this is true,
Knowing You are sincere.
You will shelter the poor,
The needy in distress;
Always in making sure,
To comfort as You bless.
You calm foreign protest,
And silenced the tyrants;
The humbled You have blessed,
For having reverence.
You will prepare a feast,
The best food and aged wine;
Feeding Your loyal priest,
With blessings as they dine.
He will remove the veil,
Covering like a mask;
Victory will prevail,
From a successful task.
For You swallow up death,
And wipe away the tears;
For a relieving breath,
Because gone are the fears.
When we come on that day,
We hear the joyful sound;
Your people will then say,
Loudly to shake the ground.
This is our Lord God,
Who we have waited for;
Saving us from the fraud,
From the far distant shore.
