As a dear longs for flowing streams,
So does my soul longs for the Lord;
Just like the sun light sends its beams,
That warmth of love not be ignored.
My soul thirsts for the living God,
When may I come to see His face?
For I want to honor and laud,
Feeling my soul touched by His grace.
My tears are my food day and night,
Nourishing me through time of prayer;
Filling me with heavenly sight,
Showing me how much He does care.
I will remember all these things,
While I pour out of my soul;
And as I walk with Him it brings,
Much deeper under His control.
He will lead me into His house,
With singing songs of thanksgiving;
Being humbled as a church mouse,
Owing so much with me living.
Why are you tired and restless?
Put your trust and hope in the Lord;
For I still praise as I confess,
And never let Him be ignored.
He is my Savior and my God,
My soul is never discouraged;
Because I know He is no fraud,
Has inspired and encouraged.
The deep sea calls another wave,
At the roar of His waterspouts;
Some may fear a watery grave,
While others in causing doubts.
The Lord commands mercy all day,
And His music throughout the night;
Praying to help me to obey,
Providing favor in His sight.
The Lord is with me as I walk,
He has not forgotten of me;
I will never mourn as I talk,
Because my faith helps me to see.
