We must love each other,
Because love comes from God;
Like child and mother,
We must honor and laud.
Anyone who does love,
Has been born and knows God;
Since love flows from above,
And would never be flawed.
Those who do not know Him,
Never had any love;
And their life is so grim,
For lack of love thereof.
Love from God has been shown,
Sending His only Son;
Hung on the cross alone,
Through the suffering done.
He did this so that we,
So that we could have life;
And finally to see,
A new life without strife.
This is love that is real,
As a payment for sin;
That is giving us zeal,
For new life to begin.
So if this is the way,
That God is showing us;
We should not have to stray,
For perversion as thus.
No one has ever seen,
God and all His glory;
But we know it has been,
Since we know the story.
We know that we do live,
In Him through His Spirit;
And since He does forgive,
We also inherit.
