I wanted you to know,
My brothers and sisters;
The way they had to go,
For our ancestors.
They were under a cloud,
And all went through a sea;
As a petrified crowd,
When they all had to flee.
They were all united,
With Moses as baptized;
At night fire lighted,
New born were circumcised.
They ate spiritual food,
Drank a spiritual drink;
But an impatient mood,
When taking time to think.
They had drunk from a rock,
Which happened to be Christ;
But grumbling in their talk,
For life had not sufficed.
God was very displeased,
As their dead lay scattered;
Since they became diseased,
For God had been angered.
These things are examples,
As to not desire;
The evil in the idols,
On earth you acquire.
Do not worship false gods,
Or lust sexual feasts;
Stay away from the frauds,
That are deceptive priests.
Put not God to the test,
You might die from a snake;
Just try to do your best,
So He will not forsake.
There is no temptation,
Unusual for man;
The way to salvation,
Is through Christ in His plan.
