Have you Yourself Made the Choice to Follow Jesus Christ?

A lot of people had a very strict religious Christian upbringing when they were children and had such a lack of love shown to them from the Church.  Has the way you have been badly treated put you off?  Remember Religion and Christianity are two different things. What happened wasn’t the real thing, it was merely religion with man-made rules and regulations.  Have you gone along with Christianity because your family had you Baptized and you were brought up in it, and so didn’t give it much thought; or have you made the choice for yourself to follow Jesus Christ?  You have to make the decision to follow Jesus yourself, and no one can make it for you.  It is the same as an arranged marriage where the people concerned never made the choice to choose each other, and the couple don’t love each other and they are unhappy.  Do you want to stagnate and stay in a meaningless existence, just going along with religious observances out of habit, or do you want the road that leads to Eternal Life and true happiness?  You have free will to choose for yourself.  God loves you so much that He wants to set you free through His Son Jesus Christ who took punishment for your sins on the Cross. All you have to do is to repent and give your life to Jesus Christ and follow Him, and be set free from your sins and a life that is meaningless.  See Mark 1:15King James Version (KJV)15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. Once you do that you have to make a commitment every day to follow Jesus and do His Will, but you will become a true Child of God and life will have a real meaning for you.  To be a Christian is the most exciting life.  Jesus fills the void in our lives, and with Him our life is totally meaningful and rich despite all the ups and downs that come our way.  This life is only temporary, but eternity goes on forever, and when we give our lives to Jesus Christ, and try to lead a good life, we know without a shadow of any doubt that one day we will be blissfully and eternally happy with Jesus in Heaven because we have an assurance of salvation. See John 3:16-18King James Version (KJV)16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Dear Jesus Christ,

You are the Son of God, and You were crucified on the Cross and died for me an agonizing death, to pay the price for my sins, and You took my punishment and blame instead of me. I repent and I am truly sorry for my sins that caused You so much heartache and agony.  Please give me the grace not to commit the smallest sin again, so as never to hurt You.  My precious Jesus, I adore You so much that I am eternally grateful to You that You have saved me from hell and paid such a high price for my freedom.  Jesus I give You my life and I accept You as my Lord God and Saviour. Please fill me with Your Holiness and Grace to the brim, and please help me to resist temptation because I am Your child forevermore and help me to do your will every day. Jesus You are truly alive, and I ask You please, to be the eternal light that shines in my heart forever. Amen.
