You need to prove that you belong to God by obeying his Commandments. See John 14:15King James Version (KJV) If ye love me, keep my commandments.
You can’t do it alone, but once you are saved you belong to Jesus Christ, so if you have given him your life, he will change you into his image and likeness and help you obey his commandments.
If anyone says that they are saved, but aren’t obeying God’s Commandments or desire to do so, or aren’t doing his Will, then that person does not belong to Jesus Christ and isn’t covered by Jesus’ Blood. You are only justified by Christ when you have faith in Jesus Christ and have repented of your sins, and seek to do God’s Will. 1 John 5:13King James Version (KJV) 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
Didn’t the Pharisees have faith in God but didn’t they repent of their sins and yet see what Jesus Christ told them? See Luke 13:3King James Version (KJV) 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Jesus told us to obey the Commandments, and what did Jesus say for anyone who teaches us not to obey the Commandments? See Matthew 5:19King James Version (KJV) 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Therefore don’t listen to anyone who tells you not to obey God’s Commandments.
You are saved by grace, but afterwards you need to have a desire to do God’s will because you love him and nothing pleases God more than you letting him reign completely in your heart, soul, body, and spirit. This attitude of desiring to please God and obey the Commandments comes naturally when you are born again as it is the Holy Spirit guiding you and leading you away from a life of sin so that you walk in holiness as Jesus Christ walked.
1 John 3:6 (KJV) 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
1 John 2:6 (KJV) 6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
