People have been scared of the term” the fires of purification” and it has been distorted by man. What does the word purification mean? It means to be made perfect by the fire of God’s love. It is the Holy Spirit that transforms us into a new creation. There is nothing to fear because it is only Jesus Himself who purifies us. When a room is dirty, the more you clean it, the more you see imperfections in it that you hadn’t noticed before, when you didn’t have time to do a good job, well it is the same with us. The more that Jesus casts a light on our sins, the more we discover sins we weren’t aware of. Then Jesus purifies us of them by leading us to repentance and a complete turning away from sin with an eagerness to do what is right. This process of purification has to start here on earth.
The more you love Jesus, the more you don’t want to hurt Him, and He helps you to become Holier and Holier and makes you perfect. Some people are taught that when you die you don’t go straight to Heaven, but go to a waiting room where you are separated from God, and where you have to make yourself perfect. How can you make yourself perfect when you are an imperfect human being due to sin, and don’t know how to become perfect on your own? Would God the Father have sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die on the Cross for us for nothing, if we could make ourselves perfect? No, because the only perfect one is our Saviour Jesus Christ. On our own without His help it is impossible to become perfect. See the verse, which shows that it is Jesus who purged us of our sins. John 3:18King James Version (KJV) 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
When we are baptized with the Holy Spirit and fire, we become purified with the fire of God’s love as in the following scripture passage: Matthew 3:11 (KJV) I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. But he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Some people also believe that in order to go straight to Heaven you have to merit Heaven and do penance, rituals and prayers. It isn’t for love of God that you do these things, but for yourself. When that happens it is trying to manipulate God and the action is for selfish reasons and not trying to please God.
There is no way to the Father except through Jesus Christ as seen in the following passage: John 14:6 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. It is clear that when we belong to Jesus, He prepares a room for us and comes to take us where He is, as seen in John 14: 1-4 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”
If Jesus said that He is going to prepare a room for us, so that we can be where He is, then He tells the truth. It is a fact and we therefore believe what Jesus tells us because we must only put our confidence in God rather than man.
You can’t purify yourself nor can anyone else purify you because salvation is by no other way than through Jesus Christ. Salvation is only possible when you truly believe that Jesus Christ is the only one able to save you because Jesus made full atonement for your sins so that you are no longer guilty of sin and therefore there are no charges against you.
When God has forgiven someone’s sins He doesn’t reproach that person of their sins, but He is extremely merciful as seen in the following passage on the prodigal son. (Luke 15:11-32) See the passages that show that God doesn’t keep an account of those sins that have been forgiven and forgotten. If you ever feel guilty over sins you have confessed refuse to let the guilt sink in, but instead forget about them and listen to Jesus. Isaiah 43:25 (KJV) I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
What you need to do in order to be forgiven is to truly repent of your sins, and turn to Jesus, and to confess your sins with a sincere heart with a desire not to sin again. As a result, the slate of sin is wiped clean by the Lord’s Precious Blood and this is when you can become born again. (See Jesus speaking to Nicodemus in John 3) When you are born again you have given your life to Jesus and it no longer belongs to you, but to Him and you have become a new creation. As a result you need to have a turning away from whatever is wrong in your life, and you need to refuse to compromise with all that isn’t of God, and to live each day as if it was your last day. If you compromise, then you don’t truly belong to the Lord and you have taken your life back again because Jesus doesn’t want people who are lukewarm, otherwise He will spit them out. Jesus wants people to worship Him and adore Him with all their hearts. We are the product of what we believe as seen in . Proverbs 23:7(KJV) For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: If you believe that Jesus has victory over all sin and evil in the world and can purify you, He will do so. All you have to do is have complete faith and trust in Him and believe in Him, and listen to His voice and live to do His Will.
