Some people think that you have to simply say a 5 minute prayer to be saved, and that is it. That attitude is false. It isn’t the 5 minute prayer that saves you, but a truly repentant heart and a longing to do God’s Will. When you do that you belong to Jesus and it is just the beginning of a long journey where you need to give your heart to Jesus every day. Other people think they have to earn salvation and merit Heaven. We are all sinners and none of us merit Heaven. If you believe that you merit heaven, then you think that you can be righteous on your own and you are rejecting the fact that Jesus died on the Cross to make atonement for your sins.
You can’t earn Jesus’ love because His love is a free gift, and what Jesus wants everyone to do is admit that by themselves they are incapable of getting to Heaven but He wants them to believe in Him, rely completely on Him, abide in Him, and accept His free gift of salvation to enter Heaven. Jesus wants us to realize that our good deeds alone won’t get us to Heaven, but rather when we have accepted His gift of salvation. Jesus enables us to produce fruit and this is seen in our good deeds. This doesn’t make us better than others, but instead we should give victory to Jesus for using our bodies.
See the following passages: – John 3:16 (KJV)16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. – John 15:4 (KJV)4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. Jesus wants us to get closer to Him out of love and not fear, and not because we are good enough, for none of us are good enough for we have all fallen short of the glory of God through our sinfulness. Jesus wants a personal intimate relationship with us. The question is: Do you fear God or do you love Him? If you fear Him, you will never get closer to Him, for only His love purifies us of all sins.
There are no categories of sins as all sins are an abomination to God. When you believe that you are better than others because you have only committed minor sins, you are guilty of pride which is a terrible sin. In order to have eternal life we need to truly repent of every single sin we have committed and to never want to commit even the smallest sin so as not to ever offend God again because we love Him, and don’t want to hurt Him anymore.
If anyone keeps deliberately sinning and compromising, then they have taken their lives back again, and I believe that they are not covered by Jesus’ blood, and will be judged because they do not fall under Jesus’ free gift of salvation. It isn’t good enough just saying that we are sorry, and confessing our sins to Jesus, and then starting again. That isn’t true repentance! Whenever you feel tempted to sin, don’t let it take hold of you, but instead hand it over to Jesus straightaway. Reject that sin immediately and tell Jesus, “I can’t fight the sin in my life, please get rid of it for me, and help me to obey you, do your Will, and fill me with your Grace, Holiness and Perfection because I adore you.” Jesus is powerful enough to help you if you let Him. I find as soon as I do that, the temptation to sin goes away.
We must refuse all negative thoughts as well as make every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. We should believe that Jesus’ love is greater than every sin, suffering or illness for He carried all this on the Cross for us. It is important for you to forgive yourself for your sins and other people who have done you harm so that Jesus can forgive you. If you have been set free it is not to sin, as seen in the following scripture: John 8: 34 King James Version (KJV) Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” In the following Bible passage Jesus forgave the adulteress, but there was one condition attached to her forgiveness and that was that she left her life of sin. What Jesus told her applies to all of us as well as seen in John 8: 2-12.
You see Jesus suffered so much for us that He said that He was a worm and not a man. Every time we sin, we make Jesus suffer because God hates sin, and we throw dirt on Him, and break His heart. While repenting of our sins, we should meditate on Jesus’ whole Passion and see how much Jesus suffered, and we should have a desire never to sin again with His help and refuse sin and all that is not of God. We have been brainwashed that we are sinners and we will stay sinners, but if you believe that you will sin again, what you are doing, is believing that the devil is stronger than Jesus, and you are putting Jesus down.
We are talking about Jesus, the Creator of the Universe who is so powerful, more powerful than the devil and all the evil on the earth. Therefore if you don’t believe in what you can achieve, but what Jesus can achieve for you, and refuse the negative thoughts that the evil one gives you, then you will be able to resist temptation. Refuse to compromise with right and wrong and simply tell Jesus that you trust Him to help you not to sin. See the following scripture passages: John 14:15 (KJV): 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 8:51 (KJV): 51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. 1 John 2:6 (KJV) 6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. Do you think that Jesus would tell us to be perfect if we couldn’t do what he asked us to do? See the following Scripture in: Matthew 5:48 ( KJV) Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Who do you prefer to believe in, anyone who tells you that you will always be a sinner, or Jesus who tells you to be perfect? Life is a journey, so if you accidentally sin, repent straightaway, and refuse to be pulled down by the devil and re-focus on Jesus and believe that the outcome one day will be that you will no longer sin, and you will be made perfect by doing what He has asked us to do. The branches being cut away and being pruned means that if we let Jesus help us and believe in Him, He can purify us and get rid of our sins which are the dead branches now. I believe that there is no waiting room between Heaven and hell, and if you wait till later it could be too late. Jesus said to live each day as if it is our last day; He therefore wants us to be prepared now. See John 15: 1-12. See in the following passage how you need to be ready for Jesus’ return at any moment and not be complacent, or you could be left behind as in the following passage:
Matthew 25: 1-13. I recommend that you say the following prayer: Dear Jesus I reject sin and all that isn’t from you and please help me to resist temptation and deliver me from all that is evil 24 hours a day. Jesus, please fill me with Your Holiness, Perfection and Grace 24 hours a day Jesus, cover me with Your Precious Blood 24 hours a day. Jesus, fill me to the brim with your Holy Spirit and cover me with your Holy Spirit from head to toe 24 hours a day. Jesus, help me live in you and you live in me 24 hours a day. Jesus I place you first in my life before anyone or anything and help me to do your Will 24 hours a day. Jesus, I only want to be taught by you 24 hours a day. Jesus, please be within me, and all around me 24 hours a day. Jesus, fill me with the fruits of your Holy Spirit 24 hours a day. Jesus, place on me the armour of your love, peace, and protection and the whole armour of God 24 hours a day. Jesus, please place all your angels around me especially Saint Michael, Saint Gabriel, Saint Raphael, my guardian angel and all the angels 24 hours a day.
Thank you for answering my prayer. Amen Please say this prayer at night and in the morning in order to be protected by an impenetrable fortress. Jesus conquered all our sins on the cross so that we need not sin anymore, and He has set us free. It is a choice we have to make every day. If we chose Jesus we will walk in the light as seen in: John 8:12 (KJV) Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Let us all be Jesus’ instruments in preparing the world for His return, for this life is temporary, but Eternity goes on forever. Written by Marie-Helene and Dominic Bradshaw [email protected]
