Routine Purposes

Although I am free from people,
I have still made myself a slave;
For the message from the Gospel,
Is rescuing me from the grave.

So I have made myself a slave,
For all people as to win them;
In showing that the Lord forgave,
Of sin will no longer condemn.

I followed what Moses had taught,
For those as subject to those laws;
Routine purposes I had sought,
Causing you to have many flaws.

I did this to win over them,
Although it does not affect me;
I do not want God to condemn,
If people are able to see.

I became like someone weak,
In their faith and to give them strength;
So with temptation they can seek,
God and persevere at any length.

I am all to everyone,
So I can save at least a few;
Enable them to see the Son,
In Heaven when the end is due.

I do all this for the Good News,
So I can share it with others;
Detouring from the avenues,
That Satan or evil offers.

Do you not know that anyone,
Who runs a race runs for to win;
For the prize is reaching the Son,
And freeing us from any sin.

So I run having a clear goal,
To buffet myself to enthrall;
So Jesus will rescue my soul,
And catch me if I start to fall.
