The Prince of Peace

Date:

The people who walk in the dark,
Will be seeing a light so bright;
That no matter where they embark,
It shall be blinding to their sight.

The light will shine on those who live,
In the land of shadows of death;
As a means that helps to forgive,
Before breathing of your breath.

He will amplify the kingdom,
As He increases happiness;
Using His spiritual wisdom,
Able to spread His blessedness.

Happiness comes in your presence,
Like celebrating the harvest;
The feeling after repentance,
Or you have completed your quest.

He will break the yoke of burdens,
The bar that bonds on their shoulders;
All of the worries and concerns,
Weighting them down like boulders.

Every boot of a soldier,
Are marching to the sound of war;
Every garment to wager,
To the one with the highest score.

Blood filled garments burned in the fire,
Which is being burned for the fuel;
Allowing for a desire,
From the coldness which has been cruel.

For a child that has been born,
Unto us a son is given;
Living among us to sojourn,
Whose home will be up in Heaven.

The government will rest on Him,
Prince of Peace as He will proclaim;
Mighty God never feeling grim,
Eternal Father as His name.

His peace of unlimited growth,
The throne of David and kingdom;
He will uphold taking an oath,
As Lord with justice and wisdom.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
