The world around us has come to a stand still, streets are empty, no kids playing in the streets, no one in a hurry to get to work, gas in the cars not running out, people have so much time that they do not know what to do. Families are closer, spending all the time together where people did not have time to even talk to their dear ones because life was too busy with so much to do.
Looks like life has suddenly gone back to pre-industrialization era.
But there is a cold chill in the air, every time someone hears news about someone dear has been taken by the pandemic, or is sick, people shudder and sink deeper into their couch – could it be me next.
Being a Christian this is not the time to fear or panic, or succumb to the negative aura around us; instead take the opportunity to show the difference of hope and peace that can be ascribed to someone who knows God. A child of God lives by Faith and not by sight, everything around you may seem to be chaotic, confusion may abound but in His presence there is power of deliverance because you are empowered to cancel every works of the devil in the name of Jesus!
He Desires Humility & Not Pride
The world has become a place where pride and arrogance abounds, people have gotten to a state where they feel money and power can buy anything. But the pandemic has proven it all wrong, it did not spare any rich, poor, beautiful, ugly or kings and peasants everyone is equal and only few days away from the grave when the pandemic strikes.
A great time to reflect on the verses which says “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
A time to reflect and introspect if pride had gotten into your lives, and killed the humility that God so desires. But God is merciful and caring – so there is hope. You can turn back to him, the creator of the universe who created everything we see and things we don’t by his mere Word. Pray to God for forgiveness and seek him with a open heart and commit to renouncing any wickedness in you …and he will come down from heaven neigh unto you and will forgive you. Healing will transcend the land and peace will return because this is His promise. And he is a righteous God and he will keep his promises.
Shine the light of Hope
As a child of God you can be the channel of Love to shine the beam of hope for those who are confused, lost all hope and see no place to take comfort. Reach out to the needy in spirit, call someone who needs comfort pray for them sharing the Love of God. When the world around you seems to be chaotic you can be the peace in the middle of the storm. Because we serve a Lord who rebuked the storms and calmed the raging seas by his Word – Be Calm!
Fear is the root of panic, and panic will lead to chaos, but trusting in God’ greatness and Love will help you lead those in a state of panic to the peace of God. The Word of God says “In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”. Share the love of God with the hopeless, that is something God desires of you in this season.
And we know that our God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way.
We do not fear these calamities or circumstance, but we fear the Lord, we live and act and do by faith. But what is the breathtaking pinnacle of the Christian’s life? Where is this all going? Love. This is our final and greatest response.
Let’s Pray…
Oh Lord my God who art in heaven, Thank you for the hope and peace that we can only have in you which the world cannot give. We ask for forgiveness of any ounce of pride or wickedness in us. We pray that you may help us see your greatness, your holiness and we know that we are not worthy to come to your presence. But you are merciful, loving and you care for us. It was not that we chose you, but you chose us even before the foundations of this earth was laid.
We cry out to you at this time of distress, and we pray that you may heal the land, heal thy people and restore the peace that you so much desire. You may heal those who are suffering from sickness, you may comfort those who have lost their dear ones to this calamity. You may restore the joy of salvation in our hearts and help us to stand strong and be a source of encouragement for others who need help.
Thank you for hearing our prayers – In Jesus Name we Pray!
