Walk Away

Date:

Desire not what is evil,
That are pleasures of the devil;
And never worship a false god,
That would cause you to become flawed.

Some people go out for to eat,
As they try to become discreet;
But as an illicit affair,
An intimate moment they share.

We should not sexually sin,
Get more spiritually discipline;
The body is no longer pure,
To violate with such a chore.

Twenty-three thousand died one day,
When wanting to sexually stray;
I will not go detail the facts,
They performed some immoral acts.

In all things try to do your best,
Never put the Lord to the test;
Like the ones killed in handling snakes,
Overconfidence that it takes.

Do not ever try to complain,
Or take the name of God in vain;
The angel of death may take you,
To the lake of fire to view.

These things have happened to others,
Some of your sisters and brothers;
They are written as a warning,
Not occur to you some morning.

For we are in the final days,
And must change our evil ways;
For some it is a mystery,
In the last days of history.

Many have pride and are so bold,
Not listening to what is told;
Remaining firm and standing tall,
Thinking that they will never fall.

When tempted merely walk away,
Let it not entice you to stray;
Power to resist comes from God,
Flee to Him to honor and laud.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
