We have all strayed like sheep,
Each of us turned away;
Commandments we not keep,
Through darkness as we stray.
The Lord has laid all sin,
When punished and abused;
All corruption within,
That you should be accused.
He opened not His lips,
And led for the slaughter;
Vinegar was for sips,
Never given water.
Like a sheep being still,
As His wool had been cut;
Lots cast that soldiers thrill,
Of Christ as a culprit.
Jesus was arrested,
Taken away and judged;
To be discredited,
While being begrudged.
So much rebellion,
Being placed in a tomb;
Became a champion,
Birth from an earthly womb.
He was put with the rich,
Done nothing, never lied;
Death was caused by a snitch,
On the cross where He died.
So much rebellion,
Being placed in a tomb;
Became a champion,
Birth from an earthly womb.
Yet, the will of the Lord,
To crush with suffering;
The reason was ignored,
That God was buffering.
The pleasure of the Lord,
When He was sacrificed;
To be in one accord,
When no longer enticed.
