A Gift from God

Date:

I urge you to use good judgment,
Always setting an example;
Ensuring to give good treatment,
By doing right for the people.

For anytime that you would teach,
Be a model for purity;
At the pulpit while you preach,
Performing with your dignity.

Speak a message accurately,
That cannot ever be condemned;
Saying what is appropriately,
That heavenly love will amend.

Those who oppose will be ashamed,
They cannot say anything bad;
Of all of which you have proclaimed,
For seeing what has made you glad.

Tell the ones, who are believers,
To listen to the authority;
Do what is right as receivers,
For salvation and liberty.

Argue not or steal from your boss,
Be a good loyal employee;
Because results will be job loss,
And no longer will you be free.

You can show your shining beauty,
Of the teachings of the Savior;
Showing the way of your duty,
How God looks on you with favor.

God has such a saving kindness,
A benefit for all people;
Flowing on us with blessedness,
To believers of the Gospel.

It trains to avoid the lives,
Ungodly worldly desires;
So as we wait till Christ arrives,
That morality requires.

We can then be looking for hope,
Appearing of glory of God;
Till the return of Christ we cope,
We proceed to honor and laud.

These things that I speak and exhort,
Reprove with all authority;
As I continue to support,
God has superiority.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
