Broken Clay

Date:

Our bodies are made of clay,
Yet a treasure of the Good News;
That if we just trust and obey,
We will have salvation to choose.

This shows a superior power,
Of treasure that belongs to God;
Showing each day of each hour,
That we need to honor and laud.

We are troubled in a way,
But we are never to be smashed;
Frustrated to be broken clay,
That causes us to become trashed.

We are down but not forsaken,
Because we shall never give up;
We have been becoming captives,
But drink no poison from their cup.

We will always carry the death,
Of Jesus Christ sticking within;
Is revealed with every breath,
That will be helping us to win.

Death is at work while alive,
For life is still within thriving;
While waiting Christ to arrive,
A new creature is surviving.

I believed and therefore I spoke,
Our faith has the same spirit;
For from death Jesus Christ awoke,
Vindicate what we inherit.

Everything is for your sake,
As the love of God overflows;
Producing thanksgiving to make,
In the glory of God you chose.

So we are never discouraged,
Though we are starting to wear out;
But His Word makes us encouraged,
Renewed for shedding any doubt.

We look not for things that have been,
Things we see are temporal;
But focusing on the unseen,
That would back what is scriptural

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
