A good name will be much better,
Than having much of a great wealth;
Follow the Word to the letter,
Brings you a good spiritual health.
Respect is better than silver,
Or having a vault full of gold;
But when a person does shiver,
God can comfort you from the cold.
The rich and poor have in common,
The Lord as Creator of all;
But in prayer if either summon,
If righteous He answers the call.
A prudent man foresees evil,
And finds himself a hiding place;
The naïve invites the devil,
And will suffer for his embrace.
The fear of the Lord brings reward,
As riches and honor for life;
Bring hope as stated by the Lord,
For helping in the midst of strife.
A shady man has thorns and snares,
Hidden and awaiting for him;
Because he acts like no one cares,
Looking on life as being grim.
Train your child how he should go,
Regardless how old he just might be;
Ensuring the knowledge will flow,
For opening his eyes to see.
God will bless the generous man,
Who has shared his food with the poor;
And would anything that he can,
For finding the beggar a cure.
Whoever loves having a pure heart,
And whoever speaks graciously;
The eyes of the Lord will not part,
From those who will think righteously.
