Let the darkness hide me,
Let the light turn to night;
But my Lord still can see,
With His eyes through His sight.
The darkness is not too dark,
He makes night bright as day;
No matter I embark,
He sees me where I stray.
The Lord has created,
My inner heart and mind;
When I deviated,
He knows where He can find.
God formed me in the womb,
When my mother gave birth;
Where and when in the tomb,
As I lie in the earth.
I give thanks to the Lord,
Being wondrously made;
He is loved and adored,
Making me not afraid.
My soul is so aware,
My bones are not hidden;
I know that I not dare,
Do what is forbidden.
I was made in darkness,
Being woven at night;
But by His blessedness,
I was brought to the light.
His eyes already saw,
When I was just one cell;
And as infant to crawl,
At home where I did dwell.
Through each day of my life,
Was written in His book;
All of the joys and strife,
Times that I had forsook.
Such vast numbers they are,
That I cannot count all;
Blessings to heal each scar,
Catching me when I fall.
