Exhorting

Date:

Be careful and take heed brothers,
That you never create evil;
Rather render aid to others,
In ways to deter the devil.

Unbelieving hearts turn away,
Falling out from the living God;
Allowing them to go astray,
That causes them to become flawed.

Encourage others through each day,
While able to have a chance;
For learning to trust and obey,
To become spiritually advance.

No one ever will be deceived,
By the sin or become stubborn;
Because of faith you have believed,
Another life past this sojourn.

We will remain partners in Christ,
If we continue to hold on;
To trust not becoming enticed,
With desires of a new dawn.

If you hear the Lord speak today,
Do not be stubborn or a fool;
If you rebel then you will stray,
Making you stubborn as a mule.

Who heard the Lord and then rebelled,
All of those whom Moses led out;
The land of Egypt where they dwelled,
Caused God to anger from their doubt.

He was angry with those who sinned,
And in the desert they had died;
Were not spiritually disciplined,
Because they cheated and had lied.

Who did God swear would not enter?
Never enter His place of rest;
Disobeyed not a repenter,
Because they have not done their best.

So they could not enter His place,
Because they still did not believe;
And so God did not shed His grace,
Salvation they could not receive.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
