Long ago your ancestors,
Lived on the other side;
They were all as protesters,
Other gods that they abide.
But God led them through the land,
To where the milk and honey;
It was flowing through the sand,
A place so warm and sunny.
Before that you were led out,
Up to the shores of a sea;
As you held a lot of doubt,
Just what the future would be.
But then the waters parted,
And you had means of escape;
And ice became warm hearted,
As walls of water took shape.
They walked completely across,
Unto the opposite shore,
And there was only a loss,
Of all the soldiers of war.
You were brought onto a land,
Finding that you had to fight;
But the Lord helped you to stand,
As you kept within His light.
God saved you with His power,
Against the opposing force;
Teaching the foe to cower,
As you continued on course.
Then you had crossed the river,
Made the walls to tumble down;
As the people did shiver,
Jericho had worn a frown.
So God had given the land,
With trees and vines filled with fruit;
By following His command,
This is where you can take root.
