Our message who has believed,
The power of the Lord revealed;
The salvation we have received,
As the book of life is unsealed.
He has grown up in His presence,
Like a young tree deeply rooted;
Out of dry ground in the essence,
Where as pure and unpolluted.
He had no form or majesty,
That would make us to admire;
Rather a humbled modesty,
Wearing casual attire.
He had nothing in appearance,
That would make us desire Him;
But you could see perseverance,
His wisdom with vigor and vim.
He was despised and rejected,
Was familiar with suffering;
Felt sorrows that were neglected,
But gives comfort by buffering.
He was someone that was despised,
Not thought He was worth anything;
From those whose faces were disguised,
Enjoying what darkness will bring.
He understands sorrows and cares,
Surely He has borne our griefs;
Comforting in all that one shares,
Strengthening us all in beliefs.
But we thought that God wounded Him,
By the beating and punishing;
Making the world gloomy and grim,
Crucified for admonishing.
He was harmed for rebellious acts,
And being crushed for our sin;
Was accused of distorted facts,
The method that the truth does spin.
All of us have strayed like the sheep,
From the Lord we have turned away;
Thinking that God has gone asleep,
Allowing us to go astray.
