Not Too Young

Date:

You are a good servant of Christ,
When you can be putting things out;
And yet not becoming enticed,
Or ever shedding any doubt.

Then you will be fed by the Word,
Of the Christian faith as taught;
Through everything you have heard,
Within the truth that you have sought.

Do nothing with the godless tales,
Like elderly women have told;
For they take you down the wrong trails,
While the story does unfold.

The best way to get rid of the strife,
By changing the way that you live;
Train yourself to a godly life,
For more momentum you can give.

Godly living gives peace and hope,
A faith for now and the future;
So you will be able to cope,
As you become a new creature.

It is able to be trusted,
And deserves complete acceptance;
Ridding yourself what you lusted,
That continues your existence.

We always work hard and struggle,
While living a godly life;
Through-out the day how you juggle,
Between all the trials and strife.

Place confidence in the true God,
He is the Savior for us all;
If you believe honor and laud,
So you do not stumble and fall.

Insist on these things and teach them,
Not a factor should be your age;
Ensuring those God may condemn,
So they can get on the same page.

Make your speech by showing your love,
Through behavior and purity;
Filled with your faith from up above,
Showing of your maturity.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
