How long will You look on, Lord,
Rescue me from their attacks;
Let not my plea be ignored,
Render aid where my strength lacks.
Please rescue my precious life,
Lions stalking me like prey;
Save me from the midst of strife,
That caused me to go astray.
I will give thanks unto You,
In crowds of both large and small;
And will be faithful and true,
All I ask let me not fall.
Let not my treacherous foes,
The satisfaction to gloat;
For no reason to let those,
Ever be rocking my boat.
They do not ever talk peace,
But kill those who believe not;
Their attacks seem to increase,
When proclaiming what you ought.
They open mouths telling lies,
With deceit as they say more;
To open gullible eyes,
Sounding like the supreme cure.
My own eyes have seen it all,
And You have seen it as well;
Please O Lord, let me not fall,
Down deep in the depths of hell.
Wake up, rise to my defense,
Hear me as I plead my case;
They speak just utter nonsense,
I need You to shed Your grace.
Judge me by Your righteousness,
Letting them not gloat over me;
Clothe me with Your blessedness,
Brighten your light for to see.
So be glad what I declare,
Joyfully sing to rejoice;
Happy in the peace we share,
Praising having a loud voice.
