Where can I go to get away?
Whither I am able to flee;
I would just want to go astray,
And I do not want God to see.
If I go to hell He is there,
Or to Heaven He is there too;
A place that I can hide but where,
A hide out that no one else knew.
If I climb upward to the sun,
When the morning rays are so bright;
That is no place that I can shun,
I still will remain in His sight.
On a land on a distant shore,
Far away where the sun will set;
In the earth at the center core,
Where I would be all drenched in sweat.
If I spread my wings as to fly,
Or like a fish in ocean deep;
He would be up there in the sky,
God would still hear me as I peep.
No matter where His hand would guide,
His right hand would hold onto me;
As His discipline to abide,
Giving an insight so I see.
No matter where His hand will lead,
As His right hand not let me stray;
Steering through every deed,
Able to make it through each day.
Allow the darkness to hide me,
Making the light turn into night;
Surely the Lord will never see,
So I am hidden from His sight.
Even darkness is not too dark,
For night can be as bright as day;
So no matter where I embark,
His light is still shining my way.
