Do you know not or have not heard,
Were you never told from the start;
For the foundations of the Word,
That you should already impart.
God is enthroned above the earth,
Some of us live like grasshoppers;
Under a sky showing its worth,
A meteor so fast that it blurs.
God makes rulers unimportant,
As earthly judges worth nothing;
Because they are just resistant,
To the complaints that people bring.
They are hardly planted or sown,
And not taken root in the ground;
They whither as the wind is blown,
And no fruit will ever be found.
Then you try to compare the Lord,
Who do you think would be the same?
Able to be loved and adored,
While you honor to proclaim.
Lift up your eyes so you can see,
Who would have created these things?
Honey being made by the bee,
With natural sweetness it brings.
Who brings all the stars out at night?
Able to call each one by name;
Because the greatness of His might,
The strength of His power proclaim.
Why do you mock as you complain?
Your way not hidden from the Lord;
His standards will always remain,
But your justice is not ignored.
The strength of those who wait and hope,
Will spread wings like eagles and soar;
Because they endured and could cope,
For another goal they can score.
