Strength from God

Date:

Be silent and listen to me,
Let the people to gain new strength;
Open up your eyes as to see,
How to hang on at any length.

Let them come near who try to seek,
Impartial not holding a grudge;
So when they come near let them speak,
Coming together as to judge.

Who has raised you up from the east,
Looking back into history;
To defeat the kingdom of the beast,
Someone the Lord gives victory.

Nations are given onto Him,
As their swords turn into a dust;
Downtrodden and feeling real grim,
As chariots corrode with rust.

He chases them down on the path,
And tramples them under His feet;
They feel the fury of His wrath,
While they acknowledge defeat.

Who would have accomplished this task?
For some it is a mystery;
Is He disguised wearing a mask?
Since the origin of history.

The Lord was first up to the end,
He has been the One and only;
And the strength that we can depend,
Will remain righteous and holy.

He makes the ends of the earth shake,
And cause fire fall from the sky;
Unknown while sleep or awake,
Scientists understand not why.

The people will help their neighbor,
Telling the families, be brave;
Assist helping in their labor,
Through the power that the Lord gave.

So be not afraid God is with you,
Not to be intimidated;
For He will be faithful and true,
Strength that is elucidated.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
