Tell Them

Date:

I have not become discouraged,
Since God has given me this gift;
Through His grace I am encouraged,
How much it can really uplift.

I refuse to use shameful ways,
And no secret tricks of the trade;
Rather convince someone who strays,
Just sure the Good News is conveyed.

I will not try to twist the facts,
Or distort the Word of the Lord;
For I know God watches my acts,
And wrongful things are not ignored.

I will clearly reveal the truth,
That others covered with a veil;
But I never will be uncouth,
Like politicians leave a trail.

So I am telling the Good News,
That many say is forbidden;
Because they decided to choose,
In trying to keep it hidden.

The god of this world blinds your mind,
Because they refuse to believe;
Since the darkness is not too kind,
To the righteous who shall receive.

For they can never see the light,
Or know of the glory of Christ;
Because of darkness in their sight,
Since they have been worldly enticed.

Christ is in the image of God,
As His glory comes from the light;
The Father forgives being flawed,
If we confess He gives insight.

The message is not about me,
It is about Christ our Lord;
Being His servant I can see,
Why I must be in one accord.

Christ is light to shine in the dark,
And turning the night into day;
Finding our way where you embark,
That shines to be guiding your way.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
