I would like you to know,
Of our ancestors;
To God they had to show,
Becoming protestors.
In the cloud and the sea,
As united at first;
From tyranny they flee,
But then hunger and thirst.
God was not pleased with them,
But He gave food and drink;
As He thought to condemn,
But then had to rethink.
Over the wilderness,
Bodies sprawling out dead;
For how could He just bless,
A disrespect instead.
For these things have become,
As to not desire;
Making us deaf and dumb,
To what we acquire.
We feel the temptation,
For things that are evil;
With heart-felt persuasion,
Which comes from the devil.
There is no temptation,
For what we desire;
Having contemplation,
That God would admire.
Nothing within this life,
Unusual for man;
But with possible strife,
Since Satan has a plan.
God assures for to keep,
And will never tempt you;
As He watches His sheep,
Keeping each one in view.
But if you are tempted,
Do not wander away;
You are not exempted,
He forgives those who stray.
