I am a captive of the Lord,
Urging you in living a life;
That the Lord is never ignore,
Especially during your strife.
Every way I am humble,
As well as gentle and kind;
He ensures I do not stumble,
With confidence to ease my mind.
We are patient with each other,
Through peace that ties us together;
As we accept one another,
Lovingly where we do gather.
We do our best to maintain,
The unity from His Spirit;
Ensured not to do it in vain,
Giving diligence to merit.
There is one body and Spirit,
With having just one hope to share;
Through salvation we inherit,
That indicates how much we care.
There is one God, Father of all,
One baptism and just one Lord;
With one faith to catch if we fall,
One belief when in one accord.
Unto each of us is His grace,
Measured out as a gift through Christ;
When He went to the highest place,
So we do not become enticed.
We were but not now a captive,
For Jesus Christ has captured them;
Once we confessed God did forgive,
And the evil He could condemn.
Condemnation has gone down deep,
To the lowest parts of the earth;
Like the slaughter of the black sheep,
That would have very little worth.
The only one who had gone down,
Has ascended up far above;
All with faith have no need to frown,
Because of Him sending His love.
