Tell me of the end of my life,
How many days do I have left?
Will it be filled with so much strife?
Will a killer commit a theft?
I know that this life is not long,
The length of this life is so short;
Very soon all that I did wrong,
Will be filed in a report.
My life is small compared to yours,
And we are like the gusty wind;
But just like the water that pours,
You purified where I have sinned.
Each person is like a shadow,
They are busy for no reason;
Only the Lord my God would know,
When their business is ever done.
They get wealthy without knowing,
Who will get them when they are gone;
They know not where they are going,
Whenever their new day will dawn.
My hope is in You as my Lord,
Rescue me from rebellious acts;
Teach me to be in one accord,
And to understand all the facts.
Disgrace me not to godless fools,
Because I will remain speechless;
Assist me to follow Your rules,
As You grace upon me to bless.
Remove the sickness laid on me,
My life is done since I feel ill;
My eyes failing and cannot see,
And there is no miracle pill.
This is the point when seconds count,
The time to live for Christ is now;
Only You would know the amount,
As well as the where, when and how.
