A Lonely Season

Date:

Be diligent unto the Lord,
Do not ever try to forsake;
Never let His Word be ignored;
For there is so much at stake.

You fell in love with here today,
And went out to the sinful city;
Harlot girls made you go astray,
Enticed you looking so pretty.

Stop falling in love with this place,
Before the darkness does harm you;
God will forgive and give you grace,
Directing you towards what is true.

The Lord repays for what you did,
So mark my words if you do doubt;
To hide from the Lord is stupid,
Your location He will find out.

He is intense using His wrath,
Violently opposed to break rules;
And is able to block your path,
If you run with a pack of fools.

Bring with you here a nice warm coat,
We will pray for bringing you back;
And study the Word as God wrote,
About the faith that you now lack.

I am lonely this time of year,
Everyone abandoned me;
And is about to come I fear,
You will not be able to see.

The Lord stood by me thick and thin,
Gave me strength spreading the Good News;
And building up my discipline,
For keeping my spiritual views.

I was snatched away from Satan,
And from the mouth of a panther;
Fighting back I could then straighten,
With the Word against Lucifer.

The Lord rescues me from all harm,
And will take me to His Kingdom;
As He keeps sending an alarm,
That will stimulate my wisdom.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
