We must get rid of things,
That are slowing us down;
The distraction it brings,
Causing sin as we frown.
So we must run the race,
As it lies up ahead;
Never give up the pace,
For the Word must be spread.
We must focus on Christ,
The source of our soul;
And not to be enticed,
To keep us from the goal.
Jesus Christ saw the joy,
Forthwith ahead of Him;
Energy to deploy,
The vigor and the vim.
Death on the cross endured,
That caused Him much disgrace;
It had to be ignored,
In what He had to face.
His reward as given,
Was the throne next to God;
No higher in Heaven,
For to honor and laud.
Think of Christ, who endured,
Resistance from sinners;
Thought not of Him as Lord,
Never to be winners.
Do not become tired,
Never try to give up;
Your goal is desired,
Drink no sin from the cup.
You struggle against sin,
Struggles will never kill;
But they help you to win,
From the faith you instill.
For you have forgotten,
The encouraging word;
God has not forsaken,
No discouragement heard
