Get rid of all kinds of evil,
Every kind of deception;
Do not give in to the devil,
Luring you into inception.
Avoid the realm of jealousy,
And every kind of slander;
Avert from the hypocrisy,
That Satan would try to pander.
Desire the pure Word of God,
As newborn babies would want milk;
You will grow and be cured where flawed,
With a salvation smooth as silk.
You have tasted the Lord is good,
For Christ is the living stone;
Because humans rather have wood,
It is God they do not condone.
You come to Christ as living stones,
For His house that is being built;
While you feel it in your bones,
The removal of all your guilt.
God is laying a cornerstone,
That is precious and selected;
Someone who believes will be shown,
Their position when perfected.
Honor is for those who believe,
But anyone who believes not;
Will be unable to receive,
The salvation that they have sought.
The stone the builders rejected,
The same stone that people stumble;
Offensive to the infected,
That are living in the rubble.
The people trip over the Word,
Because they refuse to believe;
Even though that they have all heard,
Salvation that they could receive.
Live clean lives with unbelievers,
Although they might ridicule you;
Ignoring all the deceivers,
That will tell things that are untrue.
