Human Sufficiency

Date:

If you want to set your heart right,
Then pray and confess to the Lord;
Showing regret within His sight,
And the Lord will not be ignored.

If you are holding on to sin,
Then put it very far away;
Let not injustice taint within,
That would cause you to go astray.

Then you can be showing your face,
Without feeling being ashamed;
Rather secure without disgrace,
Unafraid of not being blamed.

The you forget your misery,
Remembering it flows downstream;
Considered to be history,
For being rather as a dream.

Then your life will be much brighter,
Than at the time of the noon sun;
Your burdens will feel much lighter,
As dawn of the day has begun.

The dark that has been in your life,
Will becoming like the morning;
Dissipating burdens and strife,
What was cold is gentling warming.

You will feel confident for hope,
As you look around you can rest;
No longer will I have to cope,
Knowing through God I have been blest.

You will lie down your mind at ease,
Because nobody will frighten you;
Abide in the Lord as to please,
And in His Word remaining true.

Many people will try to gain,
Your favor to be within your eyes;
But they will only induce pain,
Working for Satan in disguise.

But the wicked will lose eyesight,
As their escape route will be blocked;
Their only hope will not be bright,
As their last breath where vultures flocked.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
