Light of the Lord

Date:

How horrible it will be,
For the ones who go for aid;
Because the horsemen they see,
Just might make them feel afraid.

Chariots pulled by a horse,
War horses that are real strong;
Disciplined to stay the course,
Endurance that will prolong.

They seek not the Holy One,
They are not seeking the Lord;
All their battles have been won,
From a different accord.

But our Lord God is wise,
And brings about disaster;
He is able to chastise,
Misleading their forecaster.

He does not take back His Word,
Rising against the evil;
That has misguided the herd,
And whose prince is the devil.

They are mere humans, not gods,
Their horses are flesh and blood;
Their deception being frauds,
Easily drown in a flood.

When the Lord uses His hand,
All the horsemen will stumble;
Everything they had planned,
As their horses will tumble.

Lions growl over their prey,
When a crowd gathers to fight;
But they do not go away,
Are never scared of their sight.

The Lord like a floating bird,
Hovering up in the sky;
To defend and keep His Word,
From infiltrators that try.

In terror they will all run,
As His rock shall pass away;
The wrath of God has begun,
At the time of Judgment Day.

They will run to their stronghold,
Being frightened at the sight;
No longer feeling so bold,
As the Lord does shine His light.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
