Respecting Authority

Be subject to the laws of man,
So you can be pleasing the Lord;
Comply under the human plan,
So that their laws are not ignored.

Obey the president or king,
As well as the state governors;
They have been sent by God to bring,
Justice to foolish foreigners.

As much as we may disagree,
With policy and procedure;
We must honor what they decree,
In our labor and leisure.

Be free people, but do not hide,
Behind freedom when you do wrong;
To serve the Lord is to abide,
Because your faith will keep you strong.

Love all your sisters and brothers,
In your faith while you fear God;
As you show respect to others,
Giving them your honor and laud.

Honor and respect to your boss,
And to the owners that run it;
Showing remorse about a loss,
From the company in its merit.

God has called on you to endure,
Distress as Christ suffered for you;
Because faith and hope are the cure,
As you continue to pursue.

Christ never committed a sin,
He never spoke of any deceit;
Because of purity within,
He was spiritually complete.

He never made a single threat,
But left it for who will judge fair;
So evil will pay for their debt,
As the guiltless the Lord will share.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
